Mineit would like to congratulate Diavik Mine for reaching a milestone of 100 million carats of rough diamonds in a safe and responsible manner despite of operating in one of the harshest climate.
Diavik is Canada’s largest diamond mine, they started production in 2003 and reached this target in 13 years. Diavik is located about 300 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife on a sub arctic lake. Diamonds mined at this mine are gem quality and they are used for high end jewellery and in major consumer markets.
